Christmas Louisiana Style

Along the Mississippi River the locals have a tradition of building and burning massive bonfires along the levee top on Christmas Eve. 4 miles south of our stay at Poche Plantation is a small town, Gramercy, where dozens of the massive bonfire structures have been built. After an evening mingling in the plantation home we drove down to the town and enjoyed the ambiance of the event.
